On Saturday, September 21, 2013, we held a Parenting Seminar presented by Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller, RN, BSN. This event was incredibly successful, as we had 90 adults and 30 children attending the seminar. Breakfast and lunch was provided, and it was a great sight to see diversity amongst the crowd.

Dr. Scott Turansky and Ms. Joanne Miller presented the seminar and amazed the crowd with their methodical strategies on how to teach kids to listen and follow instructions: By building a sense of cooperation, providing a “toolbox of consequences,” and ending discipline times with impact.

The children also were taught how to listen to their parents and how to respond in respectful manners. The children ministry’s lesson plan correlated with what the parents learned in order for each family member to apply their newly learned strategies together.

WorldHarvest’s mission is to impact the world through creative community and education. We hope to build strong families and enrich our community through this seminar.
