We actively build and empower leaders through our flagship leadership seminar, “Harvest Festival.” We constantly strive to accomplish our goal: to become an agent of transformation in the global community.
HARVEST FESTIVAL, JAKARTA
Harvest Festival Jakarta was held July 5-8, 2006 at the World Harvest Center in Lippo Karawaci. This year’s theme was “Dominion Mandate.” Around 1200 business, government and church leaders attended from throughout Indonesia and 22 countries abroad. Guest speakers included: Os Hilman (Marketplace Leaders), Chip Ingram (WorldTeach International), Glenn Stanton (Focus on The Family USA), and Dick Iverson (Ministers Fellowship International). Participants were challenged by the speakers to bring God’s Dominion Mandate into every aspect of society. Harvest Festival also gave them a chance to build networks and share the challenges and opportunities they face. They returned equipped and strengthened to impact their ministry and market place. One highlight of Harvest Festival Jakarta was the Dominion Mandate concert featuring Harvest Praise Ministry (HPM). This night of praise and worship was captured in a live recording released in September 2006.
HARVEST FESTIVAL PAPUA, INDONESIA
In September 2006 World Harvest visited Indonesia’s easternmost province. Harvest Festival Papua was held in three cities: Jayapura, Timika, and Tembagapura. Daily leadership seminars were followed with evening concerts by Harvest Praise Ministry. The seminars were attended by over 1,400 Papuan leaders. The team included Dr Jimmy Oentoro, Mr. Ardian and Ps. Hanna Kristanto, Julia Chiam, Lew and Scott Belcourt, and the HPM band. Participants were challenged to become agents of transformation in Papua. The final stop was Tembagapura, a gold and copper mining town located in a mountain range 2,500 meters above sea level. For five days the Harvest team ministered in a variety of settings, including a meeting in a maintenance facility at 3,500 meters above sea level! Before returning to Jakarta the team was given a tour of the PT Freeport gold processing plant and mine.
HARVEST FESTIVAL, AFRICA
Harvest Festival Africa was held from September 28th to October 2nd 2006 in Congo and Uganda. “Achieving The Impossible” was the theme of the event. Daniel Hanafi, Vice Chairman, World Harvest, led the seminars attended by more than 860 leaders from the business, education and social sectors. For 8 days, these leaders were trained and empowered to change their communities. World Harvest successfully opened partnerships with 82 local organizations in Africa and committed to assist children at an African orphanage.
HARVEST FESTIVAL, QATAR & DUBAI
World Harvest visited the Middle East for the first time with Harvest Festivals Dubai and Qatar from 28-31 October 2006. Dr. Jimmy Oentoro and his wife Jenny spoke to 70 participants in Dubai about leadership and marriage. Mr. George and Rani Lim from WH Singapore and Ps. Nawaz Bhatti from WH Pakistan also shared. Following the Dubai event, Harvest Festival Qatar was held in Doha and Al Khor. Over 300 people attended the two sessions. The participants were not only Indonesian expatriates, but nationals of the Philippines, India, Nepal and Malaysia as well.
HARVEST FESTIVAL, NEPAL
250 local leaders and other professionals gathered in March 2006 for Harvest Festival Nepal, held in Kathmandu, the capital city. Danny Hanafi, Vice Chairman, World Harvest spoke at the seminar and empowered these leaders with leadership values. The participants were impressed with the powerful teaching. They said it was the first leadership seminar they had ever attended. Hopefully these leaders will be the pioneers to bring change to the nation of Nepal.
HARVEST FESTIVAL MOSCOW, RUSSIA
Harvest Festival Russia was held in Moscow from May 26 – 28, 2006. Dr. Jimmy Oentoro, Mrs. Jenny Oentoro and Ps. Fendy Hutomo shared truths and leadership principles needed to be successful in the market place and family. Dr. Jimmy Oentoro and his wife Jenny also led several group discussions with seminar participants. Church leaders who joined the seminar related: “This meeting is very valuable and gives a new insight about how to minister in the new landscape.”
